8TH NATIONAL CONFERENCE
29TH, 30TH AND 31ST JANUARY 2009
AT AGRA

Dear Friend,

War is one of the most serious threats to public health with catastrophic effects on infrastructure & environment. It accounts for more deaths and disability than many major diseases combined. It channels limited resources away from health and other social needs. Therefore health professionals have a duty of care to prevent war and its consequences. Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD), an affiliate of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) has been campaigning for peace, disarmament and diversion of funds from arms race to health, education and all round development of society.
Continuing with the campaign we are organising 8th National Conference on 30th & 31st January 2010 at Agra.
The conference would focus on strategies for abolition of nuclear weapons, check on the proliferation of small arms, end to violence of all kinds and preservation of ecology. It will also chalk out programme for a national health policy to meet the needs of all sections of our people.
We cordially invite you to participate and enrich the conference with your valuable ideas.

Yours truly,
